Pokemon Pallet Town

It started from pallet Town in 1999,quite literally.

Just like Ash, our love for Pokemon started from Pallet Town, I was the kid who was captivated by the world of Pokemon, I didn’t own a GameBoy Color, I had to buy the emulated version on PC to play Pokemon Blue. After understanding the only way to catch ‘em all is to use GameBoy link cable, then I got my first GameBoy Color ever just to play this game.

Played the TCG Game Competitively in Indonesia on the year 2000 onwards ...

This was ‘99 and ‘00, Pokemon Indonesia does not exist at this time, the only way for us to play the TCG is either in English or Japanese.

In Jakarta Indonesia, there’s only small amount of “Pokemon English” players, luckily 2 of my best friend (you know who you are), played the TCG and taught me how to play using my first Machamp starter deck.

Mr. Mime Psychic Deckfirst competitve deck

Everybody likes to play a strong Pokemon like Charizard with an ability to kill any Pokemon on base set, well I like using Mr Mime’s ability Invisible Wall, it will make him immune for any damage above 30 damage.

This deck taught me how to deck craft, how to compete, what trainers to use, what other Pokemon cards can be used in the deck.

This deck took me to my firs ever Pokemon Tournament in Indonesia, spoiler alert, the opponent killed me in 3 turns.

Why am I Telling you this?

Simple, because you can’t fake this life experience nor asking AI to come up with this.

My love and passion for Pokemon is authentic, and it is burning even more today. I still remember the first Snorlax holo I pulled from opening the jungle set, the countless overpriced base set 2 booster packs I bought, the thrill of drawing the trainer you need to get the 6th prize card.

My understanding of the TCG is what propel GeekingOut’s brand, by selling bulk and trainers. To my surprise the fundamental of the is about 90% the same today compare to 99’ I want people to recognise, that GeekingOut came from somebody who loved the TCG and Pokemon.

Today, I am sharing this hobby, passion and love, with my children, family and possibly you guys. And making somewhat of a career from this.
